How to send a parcel abroad step by step
You can send a parcel abroad with GLS in four steps. Pack the parcel, calculate the price, print the shipping label and hand the parcel over at a drop-off point or to a courier.

Prepare the parcel for shipping
Pack the parcel into a sturdy cardboard box and fill the empty space. The procedure is described in the section How to pack a parcel for shipping abroad.

Check the price in the calculator
Calculate the shipping price in the online shipping calculator. The price depends on the parcel weight and the destination zone.

Prepare the shipping label
Print the shipping label and stick it on the largest flat side of the parcel. The label contains the recipient's address and a tracking barcode.

Send the parcel
Hand over the parcel at a ParcelShop, parcel locker, or send it with a GLS courier directly from home.

International parcel delivery with GLS usually takes 1 to 5 business days. The time depends on the destination zone and the distance to the country. You can track the current status of your parcel in the Track & Trace system.

How to properly pack a parcel
When sending a parcel abroad, don't forget to pack it securely. The parcel will go through several transshipments, so it must be packed firmly. Cardboard boxes with sufficient load capacity are ideal. Wrap fragile items in bubble wrap, fill any empty space with polystyrene or air cushions.
